The Family Caregiving Programme is the first major research programme dedicated to understanding family care in the Southern African region
What We Do
Through research we aim to better understand how care is experienced in the region.
Our programmme focuses on research in the field of care, relationships, social protection, ageing and everyday family life. We adopt diverse and relevant methodological approaches to better understand care in society.
We are a diverse group of researchers from the Global South and beyond who strive to develop new empirical and theoretical knowledge, as well as relevant and timely policy contributions.
In working with academics, policymakers, NGOs from the region and beyond, we aim to increase awareness and bring attention to the issues of care across Southern Africa.
